Sustainability

Sustainability is a key driver for us.
It is one of the reasons Evou exists.
One other reason is that we believe that
sports- and activewear can be so much more fashionable.

Last but not least, our third reason:
We truly believe that when women feel beautiful and powerful in the clothes they wear, it will not only improve their workout, but their entire health:
physically and psychologically.

Make a contribution

Make a contribution  Fashion is about our planet, because it is one of the biggest polluters. That is shocking. Fashion has to change dramatically and fast to help save the planet, our environment. As a business and as people we all have to take care of ourselves, our children and grantchildren, that is why we have an obligation to our nature, planet. That is why we only use recycled, regenerated or biodegradable fabrics. We choose only certified fabrics, just to be absolutely sure it is what we say it is. We live by the Code of Conduct, because we value our clothes, the people who make it, the planet. Because we believe fashion is about people, about ethics. So, absolutely NO child labour and fair pay.

Fabrics

The main fabrics we use are made of ECONYL® yarn, a 100% regenerated nylon yarn. For the pants we use a 190 g/m2 recycled 65% PA – 35% EA fabric, as for the shirts we use a 170 g/m2 or a 175g/m2 recycled 82% PA – 18% EA fabric. Other fabrics we use, mostly for small inserts, are made with the Bluesign® label. ‘BLUESIGN is a system that provides safer and more sustainable environments for people to work in and everyone to live in.’ The lace, we also use for smaller parts, is fully made with GRS certified (Global Recycled Standard) recycled materials including the stretch thanks to the introduction of the unique ROICA™, sustainable yarn part of the ROICA™ Eco-Smart family. Last but not least fabrics with the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® are used. STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® is one of the world’s best-known labels for textiles tested for harmful substances.

Design

Since the start in 2012 we’ve worked with recycled fabrics. We’re very pleased with the increase of recycled fabrics in the recent years. As of the restart in 2022 we can now say that we only use recycled or regenerated certified fabrics and thread! We design to mix & match, be never out of style. Match with the activewear you already have and/or with different collections of Evou. The designs are made with 2D and 3D images, this means we have less prototyping, less transport, less waste.

Future

Sustainability is a key driver for us, but we also have a way to go. We are still learning, exploring, shaping, growing and changing to Sustainability is a key driver for us, but we also have a way to go. We are still learning, exploring, shaping, growing and changing to improve. Our goal is to choose the best option for planet and people in every step we take. May that be packaging, fabrics, designs, workload, health, prints, etc. We truly believe that every fashion brand should have sustainability as a key driver, as fashion is one of the most damaging industries for our planet; a big contributor to pollution with microfibers leaking into oceans, millions of unsold clothes and above all: bad labor conditions. With that in mind, Evou wants to contribute to a healthier planet. That is why we only make use of recycled fabrics to start with. Our aim is to be an inspiration for others to achieve ethical ecological and above all fashionable activewear. No concessions.

Factories

Many new and old brands are happy to announce they use recycled or eco-friendly fabrics, but that is not enough to do better at saving our planet. So, at Evou we try to do better with re-thinking the fabrication, manufacturing, and transportation as well. To cause as little CO2 emissions as possible, we choose manufacturers nearby, so we won’t have to fly in our goods. We try to choose electric vehicles as much as possible to do even better. Our activewear is produced in Hungary at Jelmezart and in Portugal at DM Campos. The fabrics we use for our collections are made in Italy (Carvico, Jersey Lomellina, iLuna) and in Switzerland (Schoeller). Choosing manufacturers close-by is also to be sure the garment workers are protected, well paid, cared for and that there are no children involved.

Furthermore

Our sustainability drive goes beyond the use of recycled fabrics. Our goal is to have a minimal (or no) footprint across our entire business. With Evou Couture Activewear, we want to contribute on saving the planet. We try to achieve our goal by producing just what we need, by banning Fast Fashion and make Limited Edition Collections only, by pre-ordering and by using lace fabrics which are in stock or leftover. With using different lace fabrics, we continuously produce unique pieces. The packaging we use to send you our couture activewear collections, is also made of biodegradable materials.
